Hi Matt, would you say this skillset evolution is nullified on clay (given that any respectable player should already be able to efficiently slide on clay)?
Very good point about how carpet is a thing of the past as a court surface; certainly no sliding there. Do you not think that the more powerful racquets (plus strings, and the changes in grips) also help make sliding feasible, since a weight shift forwards is less necessary in order to hit a reasonably struck ball?
